THE MAJOR CONS OF ONLINE SHOPPING
Have you
ever came across an online grocery store offering you an appealing discount on your
desired product too hard for you to resist? Online shopping stores offer discounts that spread
like a viral bug. They offer deals with astounding discounts, one must consider
it in mind. However, these attractive deals often turn out to be nothing but a
great scam. The Internet has a route of committing massive crimes behind those
screens. Skeptical people who give more preference towards conventional methods
of shopping are often aware of these fraudulent, running these con games. However,
one must keep an insight that online shopping websites are not all cons and no
pros or vice versa.
Online grocery
shopping stores often claim to be free, but is it really? No. These are
picture heavy and the fact that they consume a great deal of data. This is a setback
for those that are not subscribed to unlimited data or internet packages.
Furthermore, buyers shopping through the traditional method immensely value the sense
of touch and feel of merchandise. Why? Because this is a major element of
satisfaction when it comes to buying procedure. Online shopping for merchandise
like clothes, makeup, shoes, and grocery items are not considered suitable. For
instance, a customer buys a shade of mac foundation online lighter than her
original shade or a shirt smaller than the original size. What could be an
alternative to return these goods back if there is no moneyback guarantee policy?
Surely these goods would be considered fruitless for purchasers. Physical
stores allow price negotiations between buyers and the seller. These negotiations
help in lowering prices at a considerable level. However, in online grocery
shopping stores, there is no bargaining card. Purchasers end up getting branded
products with fixed prices. On the contrary, there lies blackness in interactivity
when it comes to online shopping. Certain online grocery shopping stores offer a service to talk to a sales representative, however, for some purchasers, it
doesn't count as an actual interaction. The traditional shopping exercise
provides light-hearted amusement in the form of a show-room atmosphere, smart
sales attendants, scent, and sounds that cannot be experienced through an online
website. It is one of the amazing aspects of hands-on shopping at stores, malls, and various shopping centers, a chance to socialize, interact with different
people, and meeting friends circle for shopping. These little experiences
disappear with a full onset of online shopping. Customers may click and buy various
products that are not really required by them. The electronic images of a
product are sometimes misleading. The color and appearance in real may not
match with the electronic images. The electronic images vary from the physical
appearance when people buy goods based on electronic images. Long duration and
lack of proper inventory management result in delays in shipment. Though the
duration of selecting, buying, and paying for an online product may not take
more than 15 minutes, however, the delivery of the product to the customer’s
doorstep might take about 1-3 weeks. This frustrates the customer and prevents
them from shopping online. Even the biggest and best shipping companies and
online retailers have their bad days, so there's no way to ensure that purchasers
get their hands on their purchase items in time unless they've picked it up from
a store. Items get lost, detoured, damaged, or delivered to the wrong address
more often than one can imagine. Also, several websites charge extra delivery
charges. People even end up paying more than the actual worth of the product. Doesn't
it feel like you've been left alone in a forest with thousands of ways and only
one correct way to choose when it comes to buying a single product among thousands
of them? Surely it does. When it comes to shopping, an individual might
need a friend for them to choose or give their opinions.
An increasing element that has taken off its route through the internet revolution with increasing
online grocery shopping stores is a fraud. Several online grocery stores display
mind turning offers and discounts to such an extent that people often end up
ordering and pay through online procedures. These online websites disappear shortly
after they've reached their target amount or when someone reports about them to
alert other people. Another way of committing this crime is by displaying products
that are not at all attractive enough in real life. They publish fake reviews about
all their goods, with the policy of no return or money-back guarantee. This ultimately
results in total disappointment at the arrival of the product.
The rate of
cybercrimes have been increasing and customers' credit card details and bank
details have been misused which raises privacy issues. Some websites do not
disclose information to the customers without creating an account or sharing an e-mail id. Later they sell these contact details in the market as sales leads.
If it is subscribed then the user cannot unsubscribe it easily. Most of the time
websites do not show information in an organized way to shop. It gives hard
time to the buyer while making a purchase online. Furthermore, except for the Cash-on-delivery
mode of payment, the majority of the payments are done in e-commerce websites using
credit cards, debit cards or mobile apps like Paytm. This kind of transaction poses
a major threat with regards to the hacking of bank account along with data mining.
Online
grocery stores have proven to be a boon for this era, however, these cons are
major elements that strike massive challenges for online retailers to continue
with their reliable online businesses. One must be aware of such situations and
factors to promote the betterment of society.
